Newry Mitchels gaelic 4 mums
This is a recent and exciting development within the club and mitchels are going from
strength to strength
On Saturday 17th July 2010 Mitchels women coached by Caoibhe Sloan really did show all the other clubs how its done when they took part in an Ulster blitz at Saval GAA. We entered two teams of equal strenth and unbelieveably won all 12 of our games. Mitchels emerged as overall winners in both sections. There are friendlies planned for the near future.
On Tuesday night at training Mitchels presented Caoibhe with a bouquet of flowers for her great work.
training takes place every Tuesday and Thursday night at the pitch from 7pm until 8.30pm the only criteria for membership is that you are over 18 and not currently playing ladies football. We welcome new members all the time and have had sessions with up to 30 women attending (and all their children,of course)
Thanks also goes to Ruth Hart who helps Caoibhe and to Ciara McKevitt a loyal Mitchels club woman who does alot of the admi work for the team as well as being one of our star players.
We are hoping the gaelic 4 mothers team will take part in our annual awards night and really make it a night to remember.
For more info on joining call to the pitch any Tuesday or Thursday night.
Mitchels now have a facebook page and wed advise all interested to add to your friends list
Cul Camp
Was a great success and many thanks to the excellent coaches Ambrose Niamh Cliodhna and Ciaran from the county board. Our very best wishes to young Conor Owens who broke his wrist at the camp
