We are have secured funding for underage PATHWAY TO EXCELLENCE PROGRAMME. Mitchels plan to Canvass interest in Drumalane area next wednesday and need as much help as possible for an hour on Wednesday for this important recruitment initiative. Further details will be posted on the Programme on the website.

Barcroft Community Centre

Come along and have a go at the basic Gaelic football skills.
This non-contact version of gaelic football is aimed especially at women who have no wish to play competitively. It's a great programme for health & fitness.
Our children may laugh at the idea but we don't care!

We will hold a presentation event for all our underage players at the end of January. So please let us know if you can come.
The event is open to Mitchels U8, U10, U11, U12, U14 and U16 players from the 2009 season.

Our annual Cluiche Nollaig - Christmas Challenge Game - in memory of Brian Campbell will take place this year on Sunday 27th December at 2pm in Gerry Brown Park. Afterwards (around 4pm) we will go to Bellinis for a presentation from the Campbell family. Later that evening is the Irish night.

Once again local band Justice will perform a one-off gig in aid of Mitchels. This was a really successful event last year. Tickets (£10) available from committee.

The Christmas party this year will take place this coming Saturday. It is open to all our young players, as well as the children and grandchildren of members. Age group is primary school children (and younger).
There will be party games, a disco, plus - we hope - a visit from a very special Christmas guest, who normally wears Mitchels colours!

Gerry Brown Park is the venue for the 2009 Sports Day held by our local Naiscoil & Bunscoil. The club was delighted to be involved in this great fun day for all the children, parents & teachers. This is part of our overall policy of supporting Ar Teanga locally. An Gaelige Abú!

We will be taking part in the Lá na gClub - the Day of the Clubs - on Sunday 10th May, with a Family Sports Day involving races, skill competitions and mini-games of Gaelic Football. Come along and enjoy the day, in honour of 125 years of the GAA. THe event starts at 12.00 on Sunday 10th May.

We are running a trip to the All-Ireland U21 Final between Down and Cork on May 4th. There are just 53 seats on the bus, so places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The cost is £8 per seat. Entry to the game is free for children (up to age 16) and 25euro for adults. The Reds v Whites annual challenge game will take place this year on December 28th (not 27th as previously advertised) at 12.00 noon in Gerry Brown Park. The teams will compete for the honour of winning the Brian Campbell Memorial Trophy.
